Pufferfish, also known as Blowfish, are one of the more interesting species of fish found in the ocean. .  More than 120 species of pufferfish exist worldwide. They are ‘inflatable’ and biologists believe they have this property to protect them from predators, since they are slow swimmers, which make them more vulnerable to predators

 

Pufferfish Description

 

  • In appearance they exhibit bright colors as a warning to predators of their toxicity, but also have neutral colors.

 

  • Pufferfish have no scales and have spikes with a rough skin texture.

 

  • They have four large teeth which fuse together to form a beak-like appearance.

 

  • They have a round head with a tapered and longitudinal body.
